I am a writer, researcher, picture researcher, photographer and animal welfare campaigner. I live in Somerset in an historic Victorian house. I recently bought a piece of land which was totally derelict and am turning it into a garden focussing on wildlife friendly planting. I am currently visiting zoos around the country and photographing the animals in captivity and studying the impact of captivity on their souls. The pictures are in a gallery under the heading Soulscapes. I have worked as a writer, researcher and picture researcher on television documentaries, for publishers and other projects for the National Archives, Kew and the Making the Modern World Gallery at the Science Museum. I have written on domestic tourism for VisitBritain and now write general features for magazines.
I want my website to highlight issues relating to protection of wildlife and animal welfare and also be a celebration of the natural world especially in my garden.
I have an MA in English Literature and would like to share some articles and jottings, past and present, from my notebooks which I hope may make you smile or touch a chord.
